While we photograph only in natural light and try our best to make sure that the colours shown on our website are accurate, actual colours may vary a little. The precise colour of the product may vary due to colour variability in computers, laptops, screen monitors, mobiles, tablets and or other devices screen peculiarities or resolution. We try to give as many colour choices as possible per design & give you actual product swatches as colour options on our website. Please be aware that we will not be responsible if the colour is not what you expected it to be at the time of purchase. Because all our products are custom made and cannot be returned for reasons of colour, please make sure that you understand that colour variations are possible from our photography of the actual products.
We share our standard size chart for all our products on our website. All our stitched products come with extra margin & stitches should you need to alter this. We also offer unstitched fabric with artwork appliqued for most of our designs as an option. Kathakali (കഥകളി) is one of the major forms of classical Indian dance. It is a "story play" genre of art, but one distinguished by the elaborately colorful make-up, costumes and facemasks that the actor-dancers wear. The term Kathakali is derived from Katha (Sanskrit: "कथा") which means "story, or a conversation, or a traditional tale", and Kali (from Kala, "कला") which means "performance and art".
The makeup follows an accepted code, that helps the audience easily identify the archetypical characters such as gods, goddesses, demons, demonesses, saints, animals and characters of a story. Seven basic makeup types are used in Kathakali, namely Pachcha (green), Pazhuppu (ripe), Kathi(knife), Kari, Thaadi, Minukku and Teppu.
